Merry Christmas! Today is January 6th, Epiphany, the day we celebrate the visit of the Magi to see the baby Jesus. It is also the 12th day or last day of the Christmas season. So call someone and wish them a merry Christmas one more time.
As we conclude the celebration of Christmas, I hope that you have found a way to make this a Christmas to remember rather than one we want to forget. It is tempting to focus on the things we didn’t do during this challenging time, but I encourage you all to celebrate the things we were able to do and the fact that God continues to bless us even though so much is different!
As we continue into the new year, mindful of the real risk that still surrounds us, I appeal to all to continue to make good choices that reflect our loving care for one another and this community. I long to be able to worship and visit with all of you the way we always have. Be strong, and loving and fearless.
One more time, Merry Christmas!
