Tonight, challenging 2021 will come to an end.  People will pause to reflect on the past and look towards the future.  Unfortunately, much of our reflection looking back and forward includes COVID-19. The past 21 months have tested us over and over again.  Our present situation and the immediate future continue to test us.  As this new and aggressive variant pushes the rate of illness higher than ever, I call upon us all to strengthen our resolve to keep each other safe to the best of our ability. As we weather this new storm, I appeal to all to remain focused on what has been protecting us from the very beginning — good choices, loving concern, wearing masks and avoiding places where we could get sick.  Unfortunately, this includes church.  As of today, all onsite worship services are canceled for the immediate future.  When the infection rate lowers again, we will resume in person worship. The 10:30 service will be a virtual service broadcast live on Facebook. It will be available to view on Facebook and YouTube Sunday afternoon.  Take a moment this evening, light a candle, say a prayer for those on the front line of this battle.  Thank God for your precious loved ones, the ministry we share, and for the wisdom and strength to follow the light. A very blessed and happy new year to all.
