In the book of Revelation, Jesus is speaking to the members of various churches and he tells them “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with them and they with me.” We live in a day and age when there are many ways to tell if someone is present at the front door. In many homes a little camera readily declares someone’s arrival long before they even knock. I can be miles away and know who is at my front door. Even then when we are not at home we won’t miss Jesus. Jesus comes to each of our doors at knocks. You can refuse to respond or not, but you cannot deny that he was there. Knock knock…
