The recent snowfall makes it official.  Winter is really here.  I hope that you are enjoying the snow.  I don’t imagine many of you have ventured out to make snow angels or to build snowball forts or to go for a sleigh ride. I did suggest to Phyllis that we should go out and build a snowman.  Perhaps the real blessing of the snow is that it invites some and reminds others of wonderful different things to do or to remember having done. I still get excited when it snows. It only took me a minute to realize the reason the snowblower wouldn’t start was because I hadn’t put the key in it.  The snow also reminds us of how easy it is for God to make things new, to wash the world in white.  Tomorrow we remember Jesus and our baptisms to which God keeps his promise to make all things new. May God continue to bless us and keep us.
