Our prayers were answered yesterday as our one nation under God went through its 46th peaceful transfer of leadership.  I hope that you had the opportunity to watch some of the inaugural day activities.  I found them to be filled with many familiar things but also missing other things.  I had to remind myself that a good portion of the pageantry had already been predestined because of the COVID virus. So now let us all find the courage to set aside collective questionable behavior from the past in order to create an opportunity that perhaps the future can be better.  One of the bright spots of the inaugural ceremony was the poem “The Hill We Climb” written and read by Amanda Gorman.  Such a young talented person filled with insight, compassion and wisdom.  This young woman filled me with possibility and hope.  As she finished her spirit-inspired poem she closed with these words, “for there is always light, if only we are brave enough to see it.  If only we are brave enough to be it.”  Praise our God from whom all blessings flow.
